He has undertaken a number of initiatives in his constituency and has released more than 200 crores for its development, thus becoming synonymous with grants. He was honored with the Best Zila Parishad National Award from the Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh, Govt of India, during a national level programme ‘National Panchayati Raj Day’ in the presence of Hon. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He received this award for playing an important role in the development of rural Ludhiana. ==Early life==
Born into a farming family, Manpreet Singh Ayali has done his schooling from Kundan Vidya Mandir, a premier public school in Ludhiana. He is an alumnus of Satish Chander Dhawan Government College For Boys, Ludhiana. As his father was a farmer, Manpreet Singh Ayali started his career as a farmer, and then ventured into the real estate and construction business.
